• Calamari rings- ½ kilogram
• Ginger garlic paste- 2 teaspoon
• Turmeric powder- ½ teaspoon
• Curry Leaves- 10 to 15
• Salt to taste
• Red chili powder to taste
• Coconut Oil or any other cooking oil- 2 teaspoon

Ingredients to make calamari fry

• Sliced onion- 2
• Chopped tomatoes- 2
• Chopped green chilies to taste
• Coconut Oil or any other cooking oil as required to fry
• Mustard seeds- 1 Teaspoon
• Fennel  seeds- 1/4 Teaspoon
• Turmeric powder- ½ teaspoon
• Chopped ginger garlic- 2 teaspoon
• Salt to taste

How to make Calamari fish fry recipe

• Wash the rings under running water and remove the excess water. To prepare marinate mix all the ingredients listed under Ingredients to marinate. Add calamari rings, mix well with marination and keep aside for 30 to 40 minutes.
• Heat oil in a pan and fry the calamari rings on medium heat for 4 to 6 minutes (Do not over fry the rings as the meat will become rubbery). Transfer it to plate and keep aside.
• Heat one tablespoon oil in pan add mustard seeds when starts crackling add fennel seeds. When starts leaving aroma add sliced onions and saute till onions turns light brown in color.
• Add turmeric, red chili powder, chopped ginger garlic, saute for 2 minutes. Add chopped tomatoes, cook for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame.
• Add Fired calamari rings, salt and curry leaves. Mix well and add 1/4 cup of water, close the lid, cook for 5 to 8 minutes on a medium flame.
• Delicious calamari masala fry is ready to serve.
